The Stemco Axle Nut Pro-Torq Drive Spindle Nut is a heavy-duty wheel end fastener that secures the hub assembly on drive and trailer axles while maintaining correct wheel bearing preload. This Pro-Torq single-nut design uses a spring steel keeper and highly visible adjustment marks to control nut back-off and help prevent over-tightening. With a 3-1/4 in-12 thread and eight-point hex requiring a 4.375 in (4-3/8 in) socket, it suits a wide range of 30,000�46,000 lb tandem drive axles and selected trailer axles. The nut engages more threads than conventional designs to lock wheel bearings firmly in place under high torque loads. It is specified for use with HM518445 / HM518410 outer bearing cup and cone sets and works with a separate replacement keeper, part number 450-4973. Common applications include Dana Spicer, Meritor, Eaton, Ford, Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Volvo, Western Star, IHC and other heavy truck axles where a 3-1/4 in-12 Pro-Torq spindle nut is required.
