The Mothers Cal Gold Clay Bar System Kit is a surface preparation kit used to remove bonded contaminants from automotive finishes. It uses a firm but non-aggressive clay bar to lift embedded grains of metal, tree sap, paint overspray, acid rain deposits, bird droppings and brake dust that regular washing and polishing do not remove. The kit is supplied with an instant detailer that acts as a lubricant, allowing the clay to glide over paint, chrome, glass and smooth plastics without harming the surface. When used on a cool, clean vehicle, the process restores a smooth finish and prepares the surface for follow-up polishing or waxing. By removing contaminants before they cause molecular breakdown of the paint, the system helps maintain gloss and reduces the risk of premature deterioration, supporting ongoing maintenance of passenger vehicles and other on-road equipment.
