The Bendix Valve Relay R12 K028453 is an R-12 relay valve used to control air pressure in heavy-duty truck and commercial vehicle braking systems. The valve functions as a relay between the brake pedal signal and the brake chambers, helping the service brakes apply quickly and consistently across the vehicle. It features a 2 SUP / 2 DEL (H) body configuration with 1/2-14 NPT supply ports and 1/2-14 NPT delivery ports, plus a 1/4-18 NPT control or secondary service port to integrate with standard air brake plumbing. The unit incorporates an exhaust adapter without silencer and is specified with a crack pressure of 5.5 PSI for predictable operation. With an operating temperature range from -40 degrees Fahrenheit to 200 degrees Fahrenheit (-40 degrees Celsius to 93 degrees Celsius), it is suited to a wide range of on-road conditions. Supplied as an aftermarket new component, it is used as a service replacement for existing Bendix R-12 relay valves.
